CabFare Launches Instant Payouts in the Tap to Pay App
Instant Payouts helps eligible CabFare users access funds faster, any day or time, directly from the Tap to Pay app.

At CabFare, we know that getting paid quickly matters. For drivers and fleet operators, access to funds can affect everything from fuel and tolls to shift planning, vehicle costs, and day-to-day cash flow. That is why we are pleased to announce the launch of Instant Payouts in the CabFare Tap to Pay app. Stripe’s current documentation confirms that Instant Payouts are available in Australia and are designed to move eligible funds to supported payout destinations within minutes.
With Instant Payouts, eligible CabFare users can request access to available funds directly from the app, any day or time, including weekends and public holidays. In most cases, funds typically arrive within 30 minutes of the payout being requested, giving users faster access to money that would otherwise be paid out on a standard schedule.
A faster way to access earnings
Until now, many drivers and operators have relied on standard payout schedules, which can mean waiting one or two business days before funds from completed card transactions reach their account. While standard payouts remain important and continue to work well for many businesses, there are times when faster access to funds makes a real difference.
Instant Payouts gives CabFare users more control over when they access their money. Instead of waiting for the next scheduled payout, eligible users can request a payout on demand through the CabFare Tap to Pay app. That means faster access to earnings when it is needed most, whether that is after a busy shift, over a weekend, or during a period of high operating costs.
Built for taxi and limo businesses
The launch of Instant Payouts is designed specifically around the needs of taxi and limo operators. In this industry, payment timing matters. Drivers often have immediate costs to manage, while fleet operators need reliable cash flow to support vehicle operations, driver settlements, and broader business commitments.
For drivers, Instant Payouts means quicker access to earned funds after successful card charges. Rather than waiting for the regular payout cycle, they can choose to transfer an eligible balance directly through the app and receive the funds much sooner. For fleet operators, it offers more flexibility in managing incoming funds and can help support faster driver payments and improved working capital.
How Instant Payouts works in the CabFare App
If your account is eligible for Instant Payouts, the process is simple.
Open the CabFare Tap to Pay app and go to the Payouts section. From there, select Pay out funds. If you have a positive available balance, you will see the option to begin the payout process. You can then choose either a Standard payout or an Instant payout, depending on your preference.
Once you choose Instant Payouts, you can enter the amount you want to receive, up to the maximum available amount and subject to any applicable limits. The fee for the Instant Payout is shown during the flow and deducted before the payout is processed, so the amount displayed is the amount you can expect to receive. Once confirmed, the payout is submitted immediately and typically reaches your payout destination within minutes.
Why this feature matters
Instant Payouts is not just a convenience feature. It is a practical cash flow tool.
For many drivers, faster access to earnings can help cover fuel, food, tolls, rent, and other immediate expenses without waiting for the next business day. For fleet operators, it can support smoother financial operations, more responsive driver settlements, and better overall flexibility during peak demand periods or unexpected cost spikes.
In sectors like taxi and limo, where cash flow can be highly operational, the ability to move funds quickly can remove friction from everyday business activity. It also gives CabFare users a choice. Those who want the predictability of standard scheduled payouts can continue using them, while those who value speed can use Instant Payouts when it makes sense for their business.
Available in Australia now
Instant Payouts is now available to eligible taxi and limo businesses in Australia using the CabFare Tap to Pay Driver and Fleet app. This is an important step in expanding the financial flexibility of the CabFare platform and giving drivers and operators more options in how and when they receive funds.
This launch also marks part of a broader direction for CabFare as we continue building payment tools that are more flexible for the mobility industry. While Instant Payouts is currently available through the CabFare Tap to Pay app, we expect this capability to become increasingly relevant across other CabFare payment experiences over time.
A premium payout option with clear pricing
Instant Payouts is a premium feature and a fee applies each time it is used. This fee is separate from standard transaction processing fees and is shown clearly during the payout flow before the user confirms the transfer.
That transparency is important. Users should be able to decide whether speed or standard scheduling is the better fit for the moment. Some may prefer to use Instant Payouts regularly, while others may only use it when they want quicker access to funds. Either way, CabFare provides the choice, while any remaining balance that is not paid out instantly continues to follow the default payout schedule.
Designed for flexibility, not complexity
One of the strengths of Instant Payouts is that it fits into the existing CabFare app experience. There is no separate system to learn and no additional workflow outside the app. Users can manage payouts from the same place they already manage their Tap to Pay activity.
That simplicity matters. CabFare’s goal is to reduce operational friction for drivers and fleet operators, not add to it. By bringing faster payouts into the app, we are making it easier for users to access earnings when needed, while still keeping standard payouts available as the default option.
Supporting modern mobility payments
The taxi and limo industry continues to evolve, and payment expectations are evolving with it. Operators increasingly want payment tools that are not only reliable, but also flexible enough to match how their businesses actually run. Faster settlement options are part of that shift.
Instant Payouts supports that direction by helping CabFare users move from completed fare to accessible funds much faster. It is one more step in CabFare’s continued focus on practical payment solutions for drivers, fleets, and mobility businesses.
